Fischer From The Hit Show "Office" And Gunn Call It Quits

Jenna Fischer, 33, from the hit show "Office" who has been married to filmmaker James Gunn for six years, calls it quits.

"We need to announce that we have chosen to separate. We are sorry for any pain this causes family and friends," they said in a joint statement posted on their respective sites (http://www.myspace.com/slithermovie, http://www.myspace.com/pambeesley).

"The enthusiasm we have expressed for each other's lives, spirits, and careers is real -- we have been each other's cheerleader and friend during the past six years and continue to be so now and in the future."

They warned fans against posting negative messages, noting that "we still have the utmost respect for one another."

Fischer received an Emmy nomination for her supporting role as the lovelorn receptionist at the Dunder Mifflin paper company. Emmy winners will be announced on September 16. Fischer's feature credits include "Blades of Glory" and the upcoming comedy "The Brothers Solomon."

Gunn directed the comedy-horror film "Slither" and wrote the "Scooby-Doo" movies. His publicist said he was 37. People magazine, which broke the news of the separation, said he was 41.

Halle Berry Three Months Pregnant

Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry, who has been dating model Gabriel Aubry since the two met at a photo shoot for Versace in November 2005, is pregnant.

The actress announced her pregnancy in an email to accesshollywood.com. The website quoted her as saying: "Yes, I am three months pregnant. Gabriel (Aubry) and I are beyond excited and I've waited a long time for this moment in my life."

Rumours of a baby had been rife for quite sometime. According to the reports, the producers of her upcoming film Tulia had delayed the shooting, which was supposed to start in October, because of Berry's pregnancy.

The film is now expected to go on floors at a later date.

The actress has been married twice - once to baseball star David Justice and later to singer Eric Benet, but neither marriage produced children.

Paris Hilton Loses Get Out Of Jail Free Card

A sheriff's car picked up a crying Paris Hilton at her Hollywood home on Friday and took her to court for a hearing on whether she should return to jail or not. It turns out she was ordered back to jail to serve out the remainder of her sentence. Hilton reportedly left the courtroom in tears, screaming, "Mom, Mom, Mom."

Hours after Paris Hilton was sent home under house arrest Thursday, after using her get out of jail free Monopoly card, the judge who put her in jail ordered her into court to determine whether she should be put back behind bars.

Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer issued his order after the city attorney filed a petition late Thursday afternoon questioning if Sheriff Lee Baca should be held in contempt of court for releasing Hilton Thursday morning.

The celebrity inmate was sent home from the L.A. County jail's Lynwood lockup shortly after 2 a.m. for an unspecified medical condition in a stunning reduction to her original 45-day sentence.

She was ordered to finish her 45-day sentence under house arrest, meaning she could not leave her four-bedroom, three-bath home in the Hollywood Hills until next month.

The release had triggered protests from jail inmates, who claimed that Hilton is given special treatment because of her affluent background.

"The women inside the jail are seething. They say if you're a rich white girl you et special treatment," the Sun quoted a source, as saying.

"There are girls in here with cancer, TB, and with MRSA. They aren't allowed to go home and are treated by prison medical staff. The prisoners think if you're rich and pretend you're sick you can get away with murder," the source added

The 'Simple Life' star was on a suicide watch at the Century Regional Detention Facility.

Hilton may still get to serve half the jail term if she is in the best of behavior.

Her lawyers will file an appeal against the sentence next week.

Sorry Didn't Cut It For Washington Of Grey's Anatomy

One Hollywood actor won't be returning to his regular gig in the fall. The powers that be at Disney's ABC decided not to renew Grey's Anatomy cast member Isaiah Washington's contract option for next season.

In a statement, Washington said he's "mad as hell" and "not going to take it anymore," but did not elaborate. Grey's Anatomy has regularly been a top 10 show in the ratings since debuting in 2005.

Washington had been under fire for using an anti-gay slur five months ago backstage at the Golden Globe Awards. He also denied he used the slur previously against cast mate T.R. Knight.

Washington was criticized by gay rights groups as well as fellow cast member Katherine Heigl, who denounced Washington publicly. Heigl stars this month in Knocked Up, a Universal Pictures production.

Following the fallout, Washington met with gay advocacy organizations and filmed a public service announcement emphasizing the power of words to hurt or heal. In case you missed it, the season finale of Grey's Anatomy put the fate of Washington's character, Burke, in question.

Washington's spokesman says the actor will spend the summer working and doing charity work.

Bob Barker Tapes Last Show Of The Price Is Right

With his final show in the can, Bob Barker is officially retired.

The 83-year-old daytime icon filmed his last episode of "The Price Is Right" on Wednesday, ending his 35-year tenure on the CBS show and 50 years on television.

"I thank you, thank you, thank you for inviting me into your home for more than 50 years. I'm truly grateful, and I hope that all of you have enjoyed your visit to 'The Price Is Right,'" Barker told the studio audience after the cameras stopped rolling.

The episode is scheduled to air twice June 15: once at its usual time and again that evening. Reruns of Barker-hosted shows will play until the new season premieres in the fall. Among the reported candidates to replace Barker are Todd Newton of the E! network, Mark Steines of "Entertainment Tonight," George Hamilton and John O'Hurley.

Barker ended his record tenure by blowing kisses and working in the same low-key, genial fashion that made him one of daytime TV's biggest stars. He closed the show with his usual, "Help control the pet population, have your pets spayed or neutered. Goodbye everybody."

Later, Barker was humble when asked what qualities have made him an American favorite for half a century.

"Hosts of shows are like pie," he said during a post-show press conference. "Some people like lemon, some like cherry, some like apple, and fortunately a lot of them like the Barker kind."

He said the key to his success is listening.

"When I talk with someone, I listen. And I think if you do, you're going to find little nuggets of gold to go with."

Barker answered questions from the audience during commercial breaks in the taping. "Someone asked, will I spend my mornings watching `The Price Is Right'? In as few words as possible, no," he quipped. He quickly conceded, however, that curiosity might get the better of him.

He said the only souvenir he planned to take with him from the "Price" studio was the sign from his dressing room door. "The guys put up a sign that (says) WGMC, world's greatest master of ceremonies."

Barker began his national television career in 1956 as the host of "Truth or Consequences." He first appeared on "The Price Is Right" on Sept. 4, 1972, and has been the face of the show ever since.

For 35 years, he has played the same games with contestants and filmed from the same spot Studio 33, aka the Bob Barker Studio at CBS Television City.

"The only thing that's changed on `The Price Is Right' is the color of my hair," Barker said during a CBS prime-time tribute show that aired last month.

Barker has influenced the show's prizes over the years, said longtime producer Roger Dobkowitz.

"Because he's a vegetarian, we respect his wishes and we don't advertise meat products on the show," he said. At Barker's request, they also stopped giving away fur coats.

The silver-haired host's long reign has also inspired fan traditions. Most female contestants and even some men kiss him on the cheek. Members of the military wear their uniforms. College students wear their university sweat shirts and groups of fans come in matching custom-made T-shirts.

As the legendary host counted down his last days on the air, fans from around the country made pilgrimages to Los Angeles to see him. Dozens camped out overnight near CBS studios for a chance to say goodbye during Barker's final week of shows.

Barker's long tenure was checkered by lawsuits brought by past "Barker's Beauties," the gown-wearing hostesses who present prizes such as microwaves, pinball machines and brand-new cars. Some sued him for sexual harassment and wrongful termination over the years. Most received out-of-court financial settlements.

Barker said he has no regrets yet about retiring: "Isn't that strange? I expected to have second thoughts."

He plans to fill his free time with travel, exercise and working with his animal charity, the DJ&T Foundation, named for his late wife, Dorothy Jo, and mother, Matilda ("Everybody called her Tilly," he said).

Stallone Pleads Guilty Of Importing Drugs

Movie star Sylvester Stallone has pleaded guilty to bringing vials of human growth hormone into Australia, in an attempt to stay young and muscular.

Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court has been told Stallone admitted two charges of importing a prohibited import when he arrived at Sydney airport from the U.S. in February.

The Australian Customs Service alleged Stallone, 60, imported 48 vials of human growth hormone in five boxes when he came to Australia to promote his latest film Rocky Balboa, his latest movie in the Rocky series.

The star of the Rocky and Rambo films was due to enter a plea last month, but the court heard that "medical material" sent by Stallone to Australia needed to be analysed by Customs first.

Customs alleged that officers found the boxes of human growth hormone when Stallone alighted from Qantas flight QF8 from the United States on February 16.

Documents previously tendered to the court alleged Stallone ticked the "no" box when asked to declare whether he was bringing in restricted or prohibited goods, "such as medicines, steroids, firearms or any kind of illicit drugs."

The documents alleged the active ingredient in the substance, going under the brand name Jintropin, was the human growth hormone somatropin.

The court documents revealed that the court attendance notice was issued on February 19, the same day that Customs officials raided his room at the Park Hyatt hotel.

When questioned by reporters, Stallone would not identify the substance but said "it's something that I've taken for years", and "it's not dangerous."

Jaime Pressly has given birth to a baby boy, People magazine reports. The actress, known for her Emmy-nominated role on NBC's "My Name Is Earl," and her DJ fiance Eric Cubiche, named their son, Dezi James, after delivery on Friday, Pressly's representative told the magazine. The 6-pound-4-ounce baby was born at 7:31 a.m. in Los Angeles.

Pressly, 29, told People the couple came up the name "Dezi" as a tribute to Cuban-born "I Love Lucy" star Desi Arnaz. The fiance Cuban-American Cubiche does an impression of him.

The pair, longtime friends, dated for 18 months before getting engaged in October 2006.

Pressly's previous credits include "Not Another Teen Movie" and "Joe Dirt."

She also designs the clothing line J'aime.

Ty Pennington Arrested For Drunk Driving

Ty Pennington, host of ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," apologized to his fans and co-workers this week after he was arrested for drunken driving. "I made an error in judgment," Pennington said in a statement released through his publicist, Stan Rosenfield.

"We all make mistakes, however this is about accountability. Under no circumstances should anyone consume alcohol while driving. I could have jeopardized the lives of others and I am grateful there was no accident or harm done to anyone," the reality TV host said.

Pennington was arrested on a misdemeanor charge shortly after 12:30 a.m. Saturday by the Police Department's West Traffic Division, according to inmate information posted on the county Sheriff's Department Web site.

Pennington was released two hours later after posting $5,000 bail and was due back in court June 4, according to the Web site.

"This was my wake-up call," Pennington said. "I also want to apologize to my fans, ABC Television and my design team for my lapse in judgment and the embarrassment I have caused."

A California judge has today sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail for violating her probation, she was caught twice driving on a suspended license.

The judge's ruling put the brakes on the hotel heiress' famous high life and even prompted her mother to ask for him for his autograph.

Party girl Hilton, 26, must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, leave of absences, use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in place of jail, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer ruled after a hearing.

The judge said she broke the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

"I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything," she told the judge before he announced the sentence. "I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all."

She was then ordered to report to a women's jail in suburban Lynwood on the set date or face 90 days behind bars on June 5.

As a city prosecutor said during closing arguments that Hilton deserved jail time, Hilton's mother Kathy laughed. When the judge ruled, Kathy Hilton then blurted out: "May I have your autograph?"

Paris Hilton was among a series of witnesses who took the stand during the hearing. She maintained she was unaware her driving licence was suspended and thought she was allowed to drive for work purposes.

She said that when an officer who stopped her in January made her sign a document stating her licence was suspended, she thought he was mistaken and did not actually look at the document.

Hilton arrived at the court 10 minutes after the scheduled 1.30pm start time of the hearing.

She was sentenced to 36 months' probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines.

Two other traffic stops and failure to enrol in an alcohol education program are what landed the socialite back in court.

On January 15, Hilton was pulled over by the California Highway Patrol. Officers informed her that she was driving on a suspended licence and she signed a document acknowledging that she was not to drive, according to papers filed in Superior Court.

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies stopped Hilton on February 27 and charged her with violating her probation. Police said she was pulled over at about 11pm after authorities saw the car speeding with its headlights off.

Hilton's spokesman, Elliot Mintz, said at the time Hilton was not aware her licence was suspended. A copy of the document Hilton signed on January 15 was found in the car's glove compartment, court papers say.

Hilton was also required to enrol in an alcohol education program by February 12. As of April 17, she had not enrolled, prosecutors said.

Hilton, who is appealing her sentence, has learned she will be housed away from the bulk of inmates at the jail for her protection.

Police are investigating reports that actor Hugh Grant was involved in "Bean Rage" incident in which he allegedly lashed out at a paparazzo with a tub of baked beans.

Grant and photographer Ian Whittaker reportedly clashed near the actor's west London home on Tuesday morning.

Whittaker told a tabloid newspaper Grant abused and kicked him before picking up a tub of beans and throwing them.

The newspaper published photographs apparently showing the alleged incident.

Whittaker was in the area to get pictures of Liz Hurley, Grant's former partner, who lives nearby.

The Metropolitan Police did not confirm the names of those involved in a statement, but said they were investigating an incident in west London.

Rosie O’Donnell’s turns down new contract on “The View” just like Star Jones did. ABC was unable to agree on a contract with the opinionated host, and she’ll leave the show in June.

O’Donnell said in a statement that “my needs for the future just didn’t dovetail with what ABC was able to offer me.”

“This has been an amazing experience,” she said, “and one I wouldn’t have traded for the world.”

O’Donnell has helped raise the ratings for the daytime chat show invented by Barbara Walters. But her outspokenness has caused constant controversy, including a nasty name calling feud with Donald Trump that placed Walters squarely in the middle.

In the Trump war of words, O’Donnell was reportedly mad that Walters did not come more swiftly to her defense, while Trump said Walters told him she didn’t want O’Donnell on the show, a claim Walters denied.

Despite controversy, or maybe because of it, O’Donnell was money for ABC, owned by the Walt Disney Co. Ratings for “The View” during February sweeps were up 15% in key women demographics over the same time in 2006.

Bill Carroll, an expert in the syndication market for Katz Television, was quoted as saying, "he’d be surprised if ABC didn’t try hard to keep O’Donnell, given the attention she brought to the long-running show."

It has been reported that the company that produced O’Donnell’s long-running daytime show has expressed interest in having her back.

Kim Basinger Public Battle With Ex Alec Baldwin

Kim Basinger has hired a bodyguard for her daughter after an angry voicemail sent by her father, Alec Baldwin, was made public.

The divorced couple's bitter six-year custody battle over their only daughter, Ireland, went public last week when the website TMZ posted a recorded phone message by Baldwin in which he called her a "rude, thoughtless little pig."

The 49-year-old actor said on the tape that he was furious at not being able to reach his daughter for a prearranged telephone conversation.

He also threatened to fly out from New York "to straighten your ass out."

Baldwin later apologised for his temper with a statement on his website and accused his ex-wife of leaking the voice mail tape to the media in defiance of a court order sealing material related to their custody proceedings.

But Basinger's spokeswoman, Annett Wolf, issued a statement denying the actress released the voicemail and said the recording was "not sealed under a court order."

Obviously they need to hire security for their weekly garbage they put to the curb.

Wolf said: "Kim did hire security in response to the media attention on her daughter in order to allow Ireland to maintain her regular routine and activities uninterrupted."

The couple married in 1993, and she filed for divorce in 2001. The divorce was granted the following year, but they have continued to fight in court over custody and other issues.

The millionaire founder of the Girls Gone Wild video empire was charged with bribing a jail guard for a bottle of water and having prescription sleeping pills in his cell, authorities said.

When he learned of the new charges, Joe Francis waived his right to a bond hearing for the contempt of court charge that had led to his being jailed. Francis cried as his mother blew him a kiss while he was led from a federal court room back to his cell.

Francis, 34, was charged with bribing a public servant, three counts of possessing a controlled substance and five counts of introducing contraband, cash and drugs into a detention facility. The charges are third-degree felonies punishable by up to five years in prison.

Francis offered a jail guard $100 for a bottled water Wednesday evening, court records said. When the guard refused, Francis showed him $500, investigators said. Inmates are not allowed to have cash in the jail.

When supervisors searched Francis' cell, they found 16 prescription pills, including the sleeping medication Lunesta and the anti-anxiety pill lorazepam, according to court records.

The president of Mantra Films Inc., which produces the "Girls Gone Wild" videos, was arrested for supplying Francis with the pills and cash, Bay County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Ruth Sasser said. Scott Barbour was charged with introduction of contraband into a detention facility.

Lauren Conrad, the star of reality television shows Laguna Beach and The Hills, is trying to stop a sex tape allegedly made with boyfriend Jason Wahler from being released on the internet, it has been reported.

Gossip blog site Perezhilton.com reports Conrad, whose nickname on her shows is "LC", believed she owned the only copy of the sex tape but Wahler also has a copy.

A source told the website that Wahler, who has been arrested three times in the past 12 months and was recently sentenced to serve time in prison, is trying to cash in with the sex tape.

"Jason is trying to sell the video before he goes to jail," the source said. "LC will lose her mind when she finds out."

Wahler could release the tape for free if he can't find a buyer, Perezhilton.com reported.

The website reported Conrad was so desperate to get the tape back she attempted to break into Wahler's house.

Girls Gone Wild Founder Faces 10 Years In Jail Tax Evasion

Joe Francis, the "Girls Gone Wild" founder, was indicted today on federal tax evasion charges for illegally deducting more than $20 million in phony business expenses from his 2002 and 2003 corporate tax returns.

According to a two count indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Reno, Nevada, Francis, 34, sought to conceal income through the use of offshore companies and nominees.

At one point, he transferred $15 million from one offshore bank account to a California brokerage account in the name of a Cayman Islands corporation he controlled.

Joe Francis, who is pictured in the mug shot at right. If convicted of the federal charges, he faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and fines of up to $500,000.

Francis was arrested yesterday on an unrelated federal warrant stemming from a civil lawsuit brought against him by seven underage women who were filmed by "Girls Gone Wild" cameramen in Florida in 2003. The contempt citation was issued after Francis rebuffed a judge's order to settle the case with the aid of a mediator.

CBS Gives Don Imus The Boot Following MSNBC

Don Imus' racist remarks got him fired by CBS on Thursday, the finale to a stunning fall for one of the nation's most prominent broadcasters.

Imus was initially suspended for two weeks after he called the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos" on the air last week. But outrage kept growing and advertisers kept bolting from his CBS radio show and its MSNBC simulcast, which was canceled Wednesday.

"There has been much discussion of the effect language like this has on our young people, particularly young women of color trying to make their way in this society," CBS President and Chief Executive Officer Leslie Moonves said in announcing the decision. "That consideration has weighed most heavily on our minds as we made our decision."

Imus had a long history of inflammatory remarks. But something struck a raw nerve when he targeted the Rutgers team which includes a class valedictorian, a future lawyer and a musical prodigy after they lost in the NCAA championship game.

A spokeswoman for the team said it did not have an immediate comment on Imus' firing. But Imus was scheduled to meet with the team Thursday evening, according to the Rev. DeForest Soaries, the pastor of coach Vivian Stringer, who had been helping negotiate terms of the meeting.

The cantankerous Imus, once named one of the 25 Most Influential People in America by Time magazine and a member of the National Broadcasters Hall of Fame, issued repeated apologies as protests intensified. But it wasn't enough as everyone from

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama to Oprah Winfrey joined the criticism.

The Rev. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson met with Moonves on Thursday to demand Imus' removal, promising a rally outside CBS headquarters Saturday and an effort to persuade more advertisers to defect.

"Imus in the Morning" Has All Day To Think Now

MSNBC-TV announced Wednesday that it will no longer simulcast “Imus in the Morning.” The radio talk show host has been flooded with criticism for his racial slur last week.

While on his show, he called the Rutgers University women's basketball team “nappy-haired hos.” A swarm of angry voices is asking for Imus to be dismissed or to resign, including the Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

CBS Radio and MSNBC announced that they would suspend Imus for two weeks. Now it looks like the suspension might last, forever. In a statement, NBC News said the decision, effective immediately, resulted from an “ongoing review process, which initially included the announcement of a suspension.”

The statement further said: “What matters to us most is that the men and women of NBC Universal have confidence in the values we have set for this company. This is the only decision that makes that possible.”

The statement apologized to the Rutgers women's basketball team and to MSNBC viewers. “We deeply regret the pain this incident has caused,” it said.

“Imus in the Morning” has also lost some of its advertising. Office-supply chain Staples and Miralus Healthcare, a pharmaceutical firm that makes a HeadOn headache medication, said Tuesday they asked MSNBC to remove advertising from the television simulcast of Imus' radio program and run their commercials elsewhere, The New York Times said Wednesday.

Other advertisers are even more upset. Procter & Gamble has announced it would withdraw all advertising from MSNBC's daytime schedule. “We have to think first about our consumers,” said Jeannie Tharrington, a P&G spokeswoman, “so anyplace where our advertising appears that is offensive to our consumers is not acceptable to us.”

During a televised news conference yesterday, the members of the Rutgers women’s basketball team expressed their own opinions and feelings on the whole situation, giving new depth to the issue.

“It kind of scars us. We grew up in a world where racism exists, and there's nothing we can do to change that,” said Matee Ajavon, a junior guard. “I think that this has scarred me for life.”

The women have agreed though to meet with Imus privately next week and hear his explanation. They held back from saying whether they'd accept Imus' apologies or passing judgment on whether a two-week suspension imposed by CBS Radio and MSNBC was sufficient.

Bruce Gordon, a CBS director and former president and chief executive officer of the NAACP, said Wednesday that Imus should be fired for his racial slur. “As an African-American, I believe that Imus has crossed the line, a very bright line that divides our country. His remarks are so significant that I believe that the right outcome is for him to be terminated.”

The Rev, Sharpton has been very clear what his stand on the situation is. When Imus was on his radio show this Monday to apologize, Sharpton said: “I'm going to say what you said was racist and you should be fired. It's not about whether you're a good man; this is about setting a precedent that allows racist language to be used in mainstream, federally regulated television and radio.”

DNA tests prove it: Larry Birkhead is the father of Anna Nicole Smith's million-dollar baby.

"I told you so!" the late Playboy Playmate's former boyfriend said Tuesday upon emerging from a closed court hearing. He added: "My baby's going to be coming home pretty soon."

Birkhead, a 34-year-old California photographer, then hugged his rival, Howard K. Stern, who has been caring for baby Dannielynn since Smith's sudden death in February.

The hearing was a pivotal moment in the battle over who gets custody of the girl, who could inherit a fortune from the estate of Smith's late husband, J. Howard Marshall II. Although Birkhead is the father, Stern's name is on the birth certificate. Another custody hearing was scheduled for Friday.

Stern, who was Smith's lawyer and later became her companion, said he wouldn't fight for custody, but a lawyer for Smith's mother, Virgie Arthur, indicated she might. The judge scheduled another hearing for Friday in the pink colonial courthouse to discuss who will raise the girl, who could inherit hundreds of millions of dollars.

Stern said he loved the baby despite the DNA results and would support Birkhead.

Birkhead had been fighting for custody of Dannielynn even before Smith's death.

A crowd of about 250 people, many of them tourists, cheered from behind police barricades when Birkhead, clutching a piece of paper, announced the DNA test results. The court's DNA expert, Dr. Michael Baird, confirmed it.

This tropical capital has been transfixed by the Anna Nicole saga since she moved here last year. Smith gave birth to Dannielynn in September, only to see her 20-year-old son Daniel die days later at her bedside from a lethal combination of drugs. Smith died in February at age 39 in Florida.

Many in the crowd took pictures of the impromptu news conference with cameras and cell phones. One man in the crowd wore a T-shirt emblazoned with the handwritten message: "I'm the baby's daddy."

Arthur, who had been estranged from Smith for years, said she wanted to be present in her granddaughter's life, but seemed appeased by the DNA results.

The baby, whose full name is Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern, could inherit millions from Marshall's estate. Smith, a former model, had been fighting the Texas oil tycoon's family over his estimated $500 million fortune since his death in 1995.

Reality TV star Nicole Richie was charged on Friday with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, two months after police arrested her and said she was driving the wrong way on a Los Angeles freeway.

The 25-year-old star of "The Simple Life" and daughter of singer Lionel Richie was scheduled for an arraignment on Wednesday on the misdemeanor charge. Richie will not have to attend the hearing.

Police arrested Richie on December 11 when her car was found blocking a freeway car pool lane and she failed a sobriety test. Police said Richie told them she had smoked marijuana and taken the painkiller Vicodin.

Although Richie's car was pointed in the right direction when police found her, her black sports utility vehicle matched the description of an SUV seen entering the freeway against traffic nearby, police said.

The charge said she was under the influence of "an alcoholic beverage and a drug" that was not specified. It also said Richie had a prior DUI conviction in 2003.

Anna Nicole Smith Playboy centerfold, jeans model, bride of an octogenarian oil tycoon, reality-show subject, tragic mother, died Thursday after collapsing at a hotel in Hollywood Florida. She was 39.

She collapsed while staying at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and was rushed to a hospital. The cause of death was under investigation and an autopsy would be done on Friday.

Just five months ago, Smith's 20-year-old son, Daniel, died suddenly in the Bahamas in what was believed to be a drug-related death.

Police said a private nurse called 911 after finding Smith unresponsive in her sixth-floor room at the hotel, which is on an Indian reservation. He said Smith's bodyguard administered CPR, but she was declared dead at a hospital.

Through the '90s and into the new century, Smith was famous for being famous, a pop-culture punchline because of her up-and-down weight, her Marilyn Monroe looks, her exaggerated curves, her little-girl voice, her ditzy-blonde persona, and her over-the-top revealing outfits and big Boobs.

Recently, she lost a reported 69 pounds and became a spokeswoman for TrimSpa, a weight-loss supplement, which has since been in a law suite over false advertising.
On her reality show and other recent TV appearances, her speech was often slurred and she seemed out of it. Some critics said she seemed drugged-out, and myself could see the affect of drugs in her actions.

"Undoubtedly it will be found at the end of the day that drugs featured in her death as they did in the death of poor Daniel," said a former attorney for Smith in the Bahamas, Michael Scott.
Another former Smith attorney, Lenard Leeds, told the celebrity gossip Web site TMZ that Smith "always had problems with her weight going up and down, and there's no question she used alcohol." Leeds said it was no secret that "she had a very troubled life" and had "so many, many problems."

Smith attorney Ron Rale told The Associated Press that he had talked to her on Tuesday or Wednesday, and she had flu symptoms and a fever and was still grieving over her son.
"Poor Anna Nicole," he said. "She's been the underdog. She's been besieged - and she's been trying her best and nobody should have to endure what she's endured."

The Texas-born Smith was a topless dancer at strip club before she entered her photos in a search contest and made the cover of Playboy magazine in 1992. She became Playboy's playmate of the year in 1993. She was also signed to a contract with Guess jeans, appearing in TV commercials, billboards and magazine ads.

In 1994, she married 89-year-old oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall II, owner of Great Northern Oil Co. In 1992, Forbes magazine estimated his wealth at $550 million.
In a 2005 interview with ABC, Smith recalled meeting Marshall at what she called a "gentleman's club' in Houston. "He had no will to live and I went over to see him," she said. "He got a little twinkle in his eyes, and he asked me to dance for him. And I did."

Marshall died in 1995 at age 90, setting off a feud with Smith's former stepson, E. Pierce Marshall, over his estate. A federal court in California awarded Smith $474 million. That was later overturned. But in May, the U.S. Supreme Court revived her case, ruling that she deserved another day in court.

The stepson died June 20 at age 67. But the family said the court fight would continue.

Smith starred in her own reality TV series, "The Anna Nicole Show," in 2002-04. Cameras followed her around as she sparred with her lawyer, hung out with her personal assistant and interior decorator, and cooed at her poodle, Sugar Pie. She also appeared in movies, performing a bit part in "The Hudsucker Proxy" in 1994.

After news came of Smith's death, G. Eric Brunstad Jr., the lawyer who represented Marshall, said in a statement: "We're very shocked by the news and extend the deepest condolences to her family."

In a statement, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner said: "I am very saddened to learn about Anna Nicole's passing. She was a dear friend who meant a great deal to the Playboy family and to me personally."

Smith's son died Sept. 10 in his mother's hospital room in the Bahamas, just days after she gave birth to a daughter.

An American medical examiner hired by the family, Cyril Wecht, said he died accidentally of a combination of methadone and two antidepressants. Last month, a Bahamas magistrate scheduled a formal inquiry into the death for March 27.

"Back to reality," the paternity of Smith's now 5-month-old daughter remained a matter of dispute. The birth certificate lists Dannielynn's father as attorney Howard K. Stern, Smith's most recent companion. Smith's ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead was waging a legal challenge, saying he was the father.

Debra Opri, the attorney who filed his paternity suit, said Birkhead "is devastated. He is inconsolable, and we are taking steps now to protect the DNA testing of the child. The child is our No. 1 priority."

Smith was born Vickie Lynn Hogan on Nov. 28, 1967, in Houston, one of six children. Her parents split up when she was a toddler, and she was raised by her mother, a deputy sheriff.
She dropped out after 11th grade after she was expelled for fighting, and worked as a waitress and then a cook at Jim's Krispy Fried Chicken restaurant in Mexia.

So much for the notion that any publicity, even bad publicity is helpful.

Ratings hardly went up for the Cartoon Network show with the ad campaign that briefly paralyzed Boston.

Blinking electronic devices planted around Boston to promote "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" caused authorities, who were worried they might be bombs, to shut down bridges and highways Jan. 31.

The fallout over Cartoon Network's guerrilla-marketing efforts for "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" has reached new heights as the head of the network has resigned.

Jim Samples, executive vice president and general manager of Cartoon Network, a Turner Broadcasting network, said in an internal memo that he felt "compelled to step down, effective immediately, in recognition of the gravity of the situation that occurred under my watch." He said he hoped his decision would put "this chapter behind us."

Turner Broadcasting has agreed to pay the city of Boston $2 million as a penalty for its marketing stunt. The supposedly suspicious-looking devices were placed near highways and bridges and raised public fears of bombs. That caused an increase in police and security, effectively paralyzing parts of the city.

The marketing effort was to promote an upcoming theatrical film based on the program "Aqua Teen Hunger Force." It was put together by an outside agency, New York-based Interference. Other agency clients include Discovery Channel, HBO, Clorox, MTV, Godiva, GE and CNN.

Many cable networks produce similar guerrilla-marketing efforts to promote TV shows, but often alert city officials beforehand. While apologetic for the incident, Cartoon still says it has a business to run.

"We have a lot of shows and a lot of brands," said a TBS spokeswoman. "We are not going to stop aggressively marketing."

The marketing devices were also placed in nine other cities. Those city officials held conversations with Turner Broadcasting executives since the Boston incident on Jan. 31.

Miss USA officials, including Donald Trump, last month stripped Rees of her tiara and the chance to compete in the national pageant after the photos appeared.

"When I saw them I was just devastated," the 22-year-old aspiring actress tells the TV show "Inside Edition" in an interview to air Monday. "I was shocked. I'm not proud at all, but what is done is done, and all I can do is move forward."

"We were just out being goofy girls and celebrating," she says. "We had a few drinks, which I don't condone, but we were just having a good time."

Rees, who claims she didn't remember taking the photos, says they predated her reign as Miss Nevada. She won the crown at the pageant last April.

While Miss USA Tara Conner was given a second chance by Trump, Rees says she was treated unfairly.

"These are things that I didn't do during my reign as Miss Nevada," she claims. "These are things that were done three years prior to knowing that I would be a public figure."

"I deserved that title," she continues. "I deserved everything that it embodies and I worked hard for it. I don't see why these pictures change the person that I was when I won it."

So what became of her crown and banner, which Rees says she was asked to send back.

"They got lost," she says.

American network ABC has rebuked Grey's Anatomy star Isaiah Washington over an anti-gay comment he made backstage at the Golden Globe Awards.

Washington also responded to the growing controversy over his remark, issuing a public apology on Thursday to co-star T.R. Knight, and to the gay and lesbian community.

Washington used the word "faggot" in a press conference at the Golden Globes. He was denying using the term in a conflict with Knight that dated back to October.

Washington was criticized by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, which wants a meeting to discuss "the destructive impact of these kinds of anti-gay slurs."

In his apology, Washington acknowledged using the term Monday night.

"I apologize to T.R., my colleagues, the fans of the show, and especially the lesbian and gay community for using a word that is unacceptable in any context or circumstance," he said.

No viral video for YouTube and a host of other share sites, the only video of Australian "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin's fatal encounter with a stingray has been destroyed, according to his widow.

Irwin, 44, died on September 4 last year after a stingray's serrated barb pierced his heart while he was filming under water off Australia's coast.

Australian authorities last week said that they had completed an investigation into Irwin's death and, to ensure it is never made public, destroyed all but one copy of a tape showing Irwin's death.

The incident was captured by the documentary crew of "Ocean's Deadliest," the Discovery wildlife special Irwin was filming at the time of his death.

This video was handed to his widow, Terri Irwin, who told TV's "Access Hollywood" in an interview being aired on Thursday and Friday this week that she had now destroyed this footage.

"There's standard protocols for examining certain evidence and that's no longer necessary," she told "Access Hollywood."

Asked whether she kept the video returned to her, she said, "Oh no, all footage has been destroyed."

But while the video of his death has been destroyed, footage from the rest of the shoot will make its debut in a one-off special on The Discovery Channel and Animal Planet on January 21 with a two-hour showing of "Ocean's Deadliest."

"We're very proud that Steve's last documentary is going to air and that's his last footage with wildlife," said his widow.

Terri Irwin and the couple's eight-year-old daughter Bindi will be in the United States when the show is broadcast, where the youngster is kicking off her U.S show business career and promoting her own upcoming Discovery kids wildlife series, "Bindi, The Jungle Girl."

In a series of U.S. television interviews this week, Bindi spoke about the sadness of losing her father and her determination to pursue a career in show business, despite criticisms that her advisers were rushing her into the limelight.

"I want to make him the proudest dad to have me and I want to show everybody, and nearly be as good as him because he was the best," Bindi told CNN host Larry King.

She told the News of the World: "It crossed my mind to try to get in touch, but I didn't know his address."

Marilyn didn't realise Mel had become famous until she saw a poster for Mad Max 3 eight years later but didn't try to get back in touch with Mel until he bought a house in Australia in 1995 and than again in 1996 when Carmel's son Jordan was born.

Marilyn told the newspaper: "I didn't want to cause trouble but I wanted him to know about Carmel. I thought he might want to know her.

Carmel added that getting to know Mel is her only motivation starting the legal proceedings, "I'm not doing it for his money. I just want to meet the man I've always known was my dad, and for him to get to know his grandson."

"I have grown up being told Mel Gibson is my father. I've been told it for 20 years. I would like some kind of closure either way. I don¡¯t want it to go on for another 20 years."

A man has been charged with trying to extort $1.5 million from Oprah Winfrey by threatening to release recorded telephone conversations he claimed would hurt her reputation, according to the FBI and published reports.

Keifer Bonvillain, 36, targeted a person identified only as "a public figure and the owner of a Chicago-based company," according to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court. The Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times, citing unnamed sources, reported Saturday that Bonvillain's target was Winfrey.

Bonvillain, of Atlanta, was arrested Dec. 15 in the parking lot of an Atlanta hotel and released on $20,000 bail. He was scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Chicago on Monday.

According to the complaint, Bonvillain met a California-based employee of the Chicago company at a party more than two years ago, then recorded conversations with the employee about the owner and her business.

In mid-October he sent the owner an e-mail, telling her an employee said awful things about her, the complaint states.

A month later, Bonvillain sent a letter saying he had tapes of the conversations, an FBI agent alleges in the complaint. In response, another associate of the company called Bonvillain and learned he had taped 12 hours of those discussions.

Over the next few weeks, Bonvillain told the associate he wanted to publish a book based on the tapes and claimed he had received offers of $500,000 to $3 million from tabloids and book publishers, the complaint said.

"There are a lot of people who would want these," Bonvillain said, according to the complaint.

The associate, who was working with the FBI, agreed to a $1.5 million price, wired Bonvillain $3,000 in earnest money and arranged to meet him in the parking lot, the complaint said. Bonvillain was arrested the next day.

Bonvillain told the Sun-Times the charges were a misunderstanding.

"There is nothing to it," he said. "It's nothing. It was a big mix-up."

Paris Hilton will no longer be associated with the nightclubs called Club Paris, because the socialite's failure to attend scheduled appearances has angered the clubs owner.

Fred Khalilian refuses to change the name of his flagship club in Orlando, Florida, or that of its sister club in nearby Jacksonville.

He has now "fired" Hilton, who even arrived six hours late for the Orlando club's opening two years ago, and wants the two Club Paris Night Clubs to refer to the French capital instead.

As reported by via hollywood.com, Khalilian says, "She's created a circus for herself. It's all about, How has she screwed up now?"

Hilton's spokesman Elliot Mintz, who claims neither Hilton nor himself have been contacted by Khalilian, says, "I'm certainly disappointed to learn of Fred's unfortunate comments. We shall address his statements at the appropriate time."

Kid Rock wanted to beat up Tommy Lee on New Year's Eve, but broke into the wrong hotel room.

Kid Rock who is currently divorcing Pamela Anderson, who was previously married to Tommy was left fuming after hearing the former Motley Crue drummer and the Baywatch actress had hooked up again.

Overtaken by rage, Kid allegedly stormed over to the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, where Tommy was staying at the time, and started breaking down what he thought was the drummer's door.

However, once Kid gained entry he realised he had smashed into the wrong room, as Tommy was staying on a different floor.

So he went over at 6am with two bodyguards, and began kicking down what he thought was Tommy's door. Only it wasn't, and Kid found himself staring at some poor, startled family.

He signed an autograph for them as security arrived, then bolted over to the Paradise strip club."

Even though a brawl was avoided, Tommy - who is in Vegas performing with his new band Rock Star: Supernova is expecting more trouble from Kid.

Julia Roberts New Baby Due In Summer

The baby is due this summer, Roberts' publicist, Marcy Engelman, said in a story posted on the magazine's Web site. News of the pregnancy first appeared in the New York Post's.

Roberts, 39, and Moder, 37, have 2-year-old twins, Hazel and Phinnaeus, who were born in November 2004. The couple were married in July 2002 at Roberts' home in Taos, N.M.

She won the best actress Oscar in 2001 for "Erin Brockovich." Her screen hits also include "Steel Magnolias" and "Pretty Woman."

Rosie and Trump were at war trading insults and threats over a fallen beauty queen this week.

Comedienne Rosie O'Donnell on Wednesday's "The View" talk show took issue with Donald Trump, who in a news conference on Tuesday said he would let troubled beauty queen Tara Conner continue her reign as Miss USA 2006 if she agreed to attend rehab.

Trump "left his first wife, had an affair. Left the second wife, had an affair. Had kids both times. But he's the moral compass for 20-year-olds in America," O'Donnell said, flipping her hair over to mock his famous comb over hairstyle.

Trump, who co-owns the company that produces the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants, fired back, telling "Entertainment Tonight," "I'll probably sue Rosie because she doesn't tell the facts."

In an interview with the Fox News Channel, Trump ridiculed O'Donnell's looks and said, "I'm going to surprise Rosie, but I guarantee I'll have a lot of Rosie's money, you know, right out of her big, fat pocket.

"I think she's very attracted to Miss USA so she probably wanted to put the crown on her head herself," he said.

"She is a very, very unattractive woman who really is a bully."

"Rosie is a loser, and ultimately (The View) will fail because of Rosie."

Miss USA the former Steak House worker, along with many stars are in the carpool lane to the clinic, joining a growing list of stars who are being rushed to rehab.

The teary-eyed Tara Conner gushed before the cameras yesterday about her second chance at keeping her crown, while under the gaze of Donald Trump, pledging to enter rehab after being discovered drinking underage in New York bars before her 21st birthday.

She will now join actress Lindsay Lohan and Democratic congressman Patrick Kennedy (alcohol problems); actor and director Mel Gibson (race issues), and disgraced Florida Republican Mark Foley and Colorado evangelical leader Ted Haggard (sex issues) in what is now becoming known as the great American trend rehab chic.

With movie stars, athletes, beauty queens and politicians tripping all over themselves in the race to a 12-step program, how many will stay on track and resist the temptations of stardom.

But I will have to say it's nice that a person that drinks while under age and does drugs can be a role model for young American girls.

Miss USA Tara Conner grew up in a three-stoplight town in rural Kentucky where alcohol sales are banned and teens spend Saturday night in the Kmart parking lot.

After winning the crown in April, the 20-year-old former cheerleader rocketed into Manhattan's nightclub scene where friends say she succumbed to the temptations of drinking, drugs and casual hookups.

Pageant boss Donald Trump could strip her of her title as early as Tuesday because of what he called her "personal problems and difficulties."

Conner hails from Russell Springs, a rural and religious town in south-central Kentucky with fewer than 2,500 residents.

She started young in beauty pageants: She was third runnerup in the Casey County Apple Festival when she was 4, and was voted Young Miss Russell County when she was 13.

She graduated from Russell County High in 2004, waitressed at a steakhouse and took classes at the local community college.

She also drank and partied like other teens in town.

Yet even as her hometown savored the honor, she left it far behind. The pageant moved her into a swank Trump Place apartment and flew her around the country for a whirlwind of Miss USA appearances.

She barely saw her parents, relatives and friends - and broke up with her fiancé.

In New York, she quickly picked up a reputation for drinking heavily, snorting cocaine and playing around with different men.

The star of "American Pie" actress Natasha Lyonne who is accused of threatening to sexually molest a dog, turned herself in at a New York court on Friday.

A bench warrant was issued for her arrest in January after Lyonne, who has also appeared in "Blade," and "Scary Movie 2," missed four court hearings.

The 27-year-old faced a number of charges including criminal mischief, harassment and trespassing after accusations she threatened to sexually molest her former neighbor's dog and ripped a mirror off the wall during a 2004 argument.

At the Manhattan Criminal Court appearance, drug counselor Heather Hayes said Lyonne had completed an in-patient drug program in February and continued to attend outpatient rehabilitation groups.

Judge Anthony Ferrara said the charges would be dropped if the actress stayed out of trouble for the next six months.

In the court complaint, Lyonne's former roommate claimed Lyonne trashed their apartment and then banged on a neighbor's door, rushed into that apartment and picked up her dog, telling the woman, "I'm going to sexually molest your dog."

Lyonne pleaded guilty in 2002 to driving under the influence of alcohol in Miami. She was fined, sentenced to six months probation and 50 hours community service.

Nicole Richie Arrested For DUI

Nicole Richie was arrested early Monday for investigation of driving under the influence after her car was reported headed the wrong way on a freeway.

Richie, 25, star of "The Simple Life" reality series and daughter of pop singer Lionel Richie, was arrested without incident at 1:45 a.m. (PST) after she failed a field sobriety test given by California Highway Patrol officers.

Richie's 2005 black Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle was stopped in the car pool lane of State Highway 134 in Burbank.

Other motorists had placed 911 emergency calls around 12:30 a.m. (PST) about a car headed against traffic on the freeway. Descriptions of the vehicle matched Richie's. When officers arrived, they found her car facing the right direction.

Richie was placed in the passenger seat of her car, which was found to be operable, and an officer drove the car off the freeway.

She volunteered the information that she had smoked marijuana and taken Vicodin, the prescription painkiller. No drugs were found on her or in the car.

Richie was booked in Glendale for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, tested for drugs and released later Monday morning.

Bail was set at $15,000, but Richie was released on her own recognizance. A Feb. 7 arraignment in Glendale Superior Court was scheduled.

Richie told officers she weighed 85 pounds and was 5-foot-1, as the ticket issued stated. Her driver's license listed her weight as 100 pounds.

The drivers who placed the 911 calls are potential witnesses about whether Richie was driving the wrong way, and authorities were trying to contact them. Richie could face an additional charge depending on the information obtained, he said.

Richie is best known for starring with sometime-friend Paris Hilton in "The Simple Life."

Hilton faces her own legal troubles: She was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving after her Sept. 7 arrest in Hollywood. Her arraignment is set for Dec. 20.

In an email written by the 20-year-old actress to friends and lawyers she states she is sick of her portrayal in the media and wants to hold a press conference to state her opinions on "how our society should be educated for the better of our country."

Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock each filed divorce papers Monday seeking to end their marriage of less than four months.

Anderson and Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, each cited "irreconcilable differences" in their divorce filings in Los Angeles County Superior Court, and no it had nothing to do with drinking the milk from the container.

"Yes, it's true," Anderson wrote in a brief statement on her Web site. "Unfortunately impossible."

The relationship between Anderson, 39, and Ritchie, 35, has been a turbulent one since they became engaged in 2002. They broke up the following year, but later reunited and held several wedding ceremonies over the summer, to convince themselves they were married.

They were wed in late July near St. Tropez, France, miles away from were Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes married, and again at a courthouse in Beverly Hills on Aug. 3. They also tied the knot in an Aug. 17 ceremony in Nashville, Tenn.

The pair filed separate divorce petitions, about an hour apart, early Monday. Anderson reported their separation date as Nov. 21; Ritchie said it was Nov. 26.

First word of the split was reported by "The Insider" syndicated news magazine.

Anderson's spokeswoman, Tracy Nguyen, confirmed earlier this month that the actress had suffered a miscarriage.

As Madonna goes home empty handed from the MTV Europe Music Awards, she continues her campaign to clear the air surrounding her adoption of baby David.

In yet another sit-down with the media, the pop superstar explained why she thinks she hasn't been able to catch a break when it comes to the public scrutiny surrounding her decision to adopt 13-month-old David Banda from southeast Africa.

"I don't think people really give a s--t," Madonna says in Time magazine's Nov. 13 issue. "But when you throw in things like I'm a celebrity and I somehow got special treatment, or make the implication of kidnapping, it gets mixed into a stew and it sells lots of papers.

"But care? People don't care and the media certainly doesn't care. What they should care about is that there are over a million orphans in Malawi, and following me around is just a gross misappropriation of attention and money.

"It's just kind of a cocktail for disaster in terms of media perception."

Madonna got little media attention during her Confession tour earlier this year while trying to bring attention to the plight of African orphans, adopting a mock-crucifixion pose during her shows finale while a ticker behind her counted to 12 million the number of children on the continent orphaned by AIDS.

Headlines in the news focused instead on her tour of Rome and how people would react to the mock-crucifixion in the holy city. Kinda like going to the White House to talk about children orphaned by AIDS and taking a bomb with you to meet the President.

The Confession tour only created another controversy. Religious groups all over the globe protested the religious imagery, calling it blasphemy and speculating whether Madonna was in the middle of a spiritual crisis.

"Which is better," says Madonna, "that I found out about an issue and instantly wanted to take action, or that it took me years to get my s--t together? Look, I could have joined the U.N. and become an ambassador and visited various countries and just kind of showed up and smiled. But that's not getting to the root of the problem, and by the way, neither is building orphan care centers and giving people food and medicine. But it's a start."

"There is a part of me that is secretly enjoying pissing people off, because I know that when you're pissing people off you're often doing the right thing," "What I hope I'm doing better now than I used to do is picking the right battles to fight, and not just being provocative for the sake of being provocative."

Speaking to those who have accused her of using her shiny celebrity scissors to cut through government red tape, Madonna said that she has never worked so hard for something in her life and has never been given such a hard time.

After taking David to a clinic in Malawi so he could be treated for pneumonia, "I just kept thinking, Oh, god, I don't want to get too attached because what if it doesn't happen?" Madonna recalled. "It was all very strange and weird, and I'd go to bed every night and think, Okay, whether someone else ends up looking after him or you end up looking after him, he's better off now than he was - So the idea that people think I got a shortcut or an easy ride is absolutely ridiculous."

Hilton Charged with Drunk Driving

Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton was charged on Tuesday with drunk driving, stemming from an arrest earlier this month she blamed on her rush to see the King to get a late-night burger.

Hilton, 25, was charged with two misdemeanor counts: Driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit of (.08).

An initial court appearance was set for Thursday, but Hilton would not be required to attend, he said.

The charges carry a maximum penalty of six months in county jail and $1,000 fine, but most first offenders are given probation and ordered to attend alcohol counseling.

Hilton was pulled over about 1 a.m. on September 7 by police who said she was driving erratically.

The star of reality show "The Simple Life" subsequently told a Los Angeles radio station the incident had been blown out of proportion but she may have been speeding to satisfy her craving for a hamburger.

Maybe if she would have picked Taco Bell like most people, she could have avoided the whole scene.

Photographer Larry Birkhead, a former boyfriend of Anna Nicole Smith, tells Us Weekly magazine that, no matter what a national TV audience was told Tuesday night, he's the real father of the reality TV star's newborn girl. And he's seeking a DNA Test to prove it.

Smith's lawyer, Howard K. Stern, told CNN's "Larry King Live" on Tuesday that he is the "proud father" of the girl, Dannie Ray Hope, born Sept. 7, and he plans to marry Smith "at some point."

"Right now we have to somehow get through what we're going through," said Stern, referring to the Sept. 10 death of Smith's son, Daniel Smith. The 20-year-old Smith died of unknown causes at his mother's hospital bedside in the Bahamas.

Birkhead says science can settle the matter. He's confident about what the results would be from a DNA Test, saying, "I know I am the father of the child. I look forward to having a relationship with my new daughter."

Birkhead is not like most guys that have a baby out of wedlock, he's trying to step up to the plate like a man with empty pockets.

Lethal Drug Dose' Killed Smith's Son

Anna Nicole Smith's son died from a lethal combination of methadone and two anti-depressant drugs, a US pathologist said.

Cyril Wecht, who was hired by Smith to look into her son's death on September 10, said a combination of methadone, Zoloft and Lexapro led to cardiac dysrhythmia.

Daniel, 20, died while visiting his mother in hospital in the Bahamas where she had given birth to a baby girl.

His death has been shrouded in mystery since then.

An official autopsy and toxicology reports are being withheld until an inquest on October 23

Hotel heiress Paris Hilton has admitted something the rest of the world already knew - she's not that bright. The 25-year-old star of The Simple Life made her confession to cops quizzing her about a burglary at the home of Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis.

She was hailed as a crime-fighter when she told Francis, who has made a fortune selling raunchy videos of topless college girls partying, she had overheard on the party scene that a Hollywood hanger-on called Darnell Riley had boasted of breaking into his house.

But when she was quizzed by Los Angeles police it emerged she wasn't a reliable witness as she could not remember what happened. "Like I really, I don't remember," she said on police tapes obtained by the television show Dateline. "I'm not, like, that smart. I forget stuff all the time."

Riley was arrested after Hilton's tip-off, and earlier this year was sentenced to nearly 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to residential burglary and attempted extortion.

During the raid he took video showing Francis tied up with his trousers pulled down, while Riley taunted him with a sex toy.

Hilton also told police she was the victim of extortion, after 'private tapes' were stolen from her home and an anonymous caller offered to sell them back to her, but that she followed her father's advice and refused to pay up.

"They wanted money," she said. "They were tryin' to sell it to like a newspaper or something. So if you pay somebody, then you're gonna be paying for the rest of your life. My dad always taught me. They'll keep the tape anyway." Dateline also obtained video of Francis being humiliated but has no plans to show it, they'll leave it up to YouTube and Google to spread the trash over the world wide web.
